ALBANY, NY--Two energy-efficiency projects supported by funding by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority have been recognized by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce for environmental leadership in incorporating advanced energy efficiency, clean energy, and environmentally sustainable technologies in construction and renovation of their properties in Brooklyn.

MAUMEE, OH--Matrix Technologies Inc., a process design and automation firm with corporate headquarters in Maumee (Toledo), Ohio, has made an investment in solar energy at their Maumee, OH headquarters.

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA--Air Products will build a 12-acre solar farm at its corporate headquarters in Allentown, PA, capable of generating 1.5 MW of electricity. The 1.5MW is enough to serve the energy needs of nearly half of Air Products' administration buildings. The project is expected to begin construction this fall and be onstream in the spring of 2011.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ--Whitman, New Jersey's leading environmental and engineering management firm, recently completed an energy audit for a public housing authority, focusing on HVAC, electrical, lighting and domestic water energy conservation measures. In all, Whitman analyzed 25 energy conservation measures in each of the buildings investigated.

ALBANY, NY--The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Sustainable Kensington Windsor Terrace completed a three month energy savings competition within two Brooklyn neighborhoods which was created to encourage participants to reduce their energy use through awareness and education.

CHICAGO, IL--The Walmart Foundation has announced a $1.2 million dollar donation to the National Energy Education Development Project (NEED) to install solar panels on 20 schools in five cities across the country. The five cities taking part in the program are Chicago, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Seattle.

LIVINGSTON, NJ--Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc. has joined forces with Apollo Solar Partners, a turn-key solar solutions company, to design a solar photovoltaic (PV) system for Hatfield Ice World, an ice skating facility located in Colmar, PA.

NEW ORLEANS--An advanced solar panel array was unveiled Friday at Joseph A. Craig Elementary School, the second project of a partnership between Entergy Corporation, Nike Corporation, Winrock International, the Louisiana Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council and the city of New Orleans.
