NEW YORK, NY—Award-winning architect Costas Kondylis announces the launch of a new enterprise, Costas Kondylis Design LLC (www.kondylis.com; 212-725-6898). Kondylis, Principal and Chief Architect of the firm, has partnered with Luxembourg-based private investment group Lynx Finances Group.

Jack Sword, Chairman of Lynx Finances Group, will function as Chairman and President of Costas Kondylis Design. Lynx primarily invests in solar, other environmental businesses, real estate development and international finance.

“Our intention is to acquire and modernize existing properties,” Sword stated. “In addition, Costas Kondylis Design is accepting new assignments and designing concept plans for future developments in New York and internationally.”

In the past, Kondylis and his team have specialized in architecture, master planning, and feasibility studies. Costas Kondylis Design’s new direction is to create spaces that offer its clients layout and lifestyle solutions for today’s economy, with a continued focus on real value and efficiency and the added component of sustainable design. Kondylis recently designed two major green buildings in Battery Park City.

According to Costas Kondylis: “As a result of the new partnership, I am surrounding myself with a skilled management and design team, which includes some of my former senior associates. This gives me the freedom to focus all of my energy on designing signature green buildings that will be a continuation of my life’s work. I am especially intrigued by the environmental focus of Lynx. I look forward to utilizing their experience in energy efficiency, as I intend to incorporate sustainable and environmentally friendly design into all of my future projects in New York City and internationally.”

During his 42-year career, Kondylis has designed numerous successful and acclaimed buildings throughout the world, and he is credited for being a pioneer in vertical living and reshaping the urban landscape. His many distinguished projects include the 860-foot Trump World Tower, W South Beach Florida, Barclay Tower in the Financial District, 200 Chambers Street, and the restoration of New York’s Plaza Hotel. His recent international work—including the Lusail Master Plan in Doha, Qatar, the adaptive reuse of the railway station Rizhskaya in Moscow, and the concept design of the Grand Blue resort in Providenciales, Turks, and Caicos—has given him a new perspective on the design of urban architecture.
